The catalyst for me was a box of breadcrumbs. A box of breadcrumbs with 46 ingredients, eight of which were numbers and one which was tuna oil!
This blog is an attempt to make sense of the food choices available to me. To learn a little more about where my food comes from, what the labelling means, and how my choice is impacting the environment.
Along the way, I’ll be documenting my meals and my thoughts about ethical eating. I live in Melbourne, and therefore you’ll find a little Australian flavour. No, I won’t be writing (much!) about eating kangaroo but by trying to eat with the seasons, you’ll notice it’s the Southern not Northern hemisphere. Most of my spelling is English English and there are probably some Australianisms I’ve not even noticed I’m using. I’m not a chef, not a nutritionist, not a climatologist, just a citizen concerned about the planet we’re handing to our children.
Every recipe on here, I have made and you are seeing the results. There’s no artificial photography, just me, lying on the floor where the light is best, trying to capture the moment before it melts. So I can vouch for the fact it works in my own kitchen. Let me know how it works in yours. I love to get feedback, either through the comments or by email heatherATeatwelleatgreenDOTcom Enjoy your food!
i’ve finally managed to make my way to your blog, and what a lovely blog it is! i find your philosophy on food more than agreeable, and look forward to dropping by and checking in on any news and tasties in the future!
best,
liz
